What is this online invoice generator?

It is a free tool to create PDF invoices visually: you type directly on a template that looks exactly like the final document, just as if you were filling in a paper invoice. As you type, the tool calculates each line, the subtotal, taxes, withholding and the grand total.

It is designed for freelancers, contractors, small businesses and individuals who need to issue an invoice quickly without installing software, creating accounts or paying for subscriptions. Everything happens in your own browser: your clients’ details and your amounts are never sent to any server.

How to create an invoice step by step

1. Add your logo (optional) by clicking the box in the top-left corner.
2. Fill in your details and your client’s: name or company, tax ID, address and contact information.
3. Enter the invoice number, the issue date and, if you wish, the due date.
4. Add the line items with the description, quantity, unit price and tax rate of each one.
5. If you need to apply a withholding tax, enter the percentage in the totals section.
6. Click “Download PDF”. You can check it first with “View PDF” or share it from your phone.

What should an invoice include?

Requirements vary by country, but a complete invoice usually includes:

• A unique, sequential invoice number.
• The issue date (and the date of supply if different).
• The name, address and tax or VAT number of both the seller and the customer.
• A clear description of the goods or services, quantities and unit prices.
• The taxable amount, the tax rate applied, the tax amount and the total due.
